In our line of work, it is difficult to recall the total number of times we encounter customers/clients who have no idea they have a derogatory credit event on their credit history. We hear the surprise, anger, frustration, and anguish, especially when they are looking to us to help them qualify for the home they desperately want, or help them save money with a refinance they need so badly. It’s a difficult to be in the tough position of conveying this information. Then, it’s even more difficult to answer the next obvious question they pose: What can I do to fix this?
